Add and Remove Sensors (Android)

RuuviTags are managed in Ruuvi Station through Sensor Cards, which are used to visualise the collected sensor data and any assigned alerts.

Add a Tag

To collect Ruuvi sensor data, any nearby sensor must first be added to Ruuvi Station. Adding a sensor to Ruuvi Station app creates a ‘Sensor Card’, which visualises the collected sensor data in real time.

When launching Ruuvi Station for the first time you will be forwarded to Nearby Ruuvi Sensors page, where sensors can be added.

This page will show you all visible sensors, which are:

  • Within the Bluetooth signal range, and
  • Powered and using the default Ruuvi Firmware.

If you didn’t add all visible tags during the first launch, the ‘Nearby Ruuvi Sensors’ page is always accessible through the Main Menu by selecting ‘Add a New Sensor’.

Information shown on ‘Nearby Ruuvi Sensors’ page:

  • Sensor’s name
  • Signal strength (RSSI)

Sensors are organised according to signal strength in descending order.

Any found sensor will show their name and signal strength on a single line. A simple tap on any unassigned sensor will add it to Ruuvi Station and you will be forwarded to the sensor’s Settings page.

Important notice: once a sensor has been added to Ruuvi Station, it will no longer be visible under ‘Nearby Ruuvi Sensors’.

Remove a sensor

You will be able to remove any sensor from Ruuvi Station by removing the associated sensor Card from settings.

After removing a sensor, it will be visible on ‘Nearby Ruuvi Sensors’ page as an unassigned sensor.

IMPORTANT WARNING: Please note, that removing the sensor card will also remove all collected sensors history data from Ruuvi Station.
