The Ruuvi Gateway is free to use, and you don’t necessarily need a paid cloud service. For a small monthly fee (starting at €2.90/month), you can unlock additional features, including email alerts and long-term data storage. Read more about the options below.
What is Ruuvi Gateway?
With Ruuvi Gateway, you can remotely access your Ruuvi sensors from anywhere in the world. Connect your Gateway to the Internet via Wi-Fi (WLAN) or Ethernet, and you’ll never need to worry about being out of Bluetooth range again.
The Ruuvi Gateway securely and reliably routes data from Ruuvi sensors to the Ruuvi Cloud. You can view the data in the cloud using the Ruuvi Station mobile app and the Ruuvi Station browser app.
Ruuvi Gateway is fully compatible with all Ruuvi sensors, both old and new. You can use one or more Ruuvi Gateway routers under the same user account. It does not matter where the routers are physically located.

I’ve been very impressed with the Ruuvi Air sensors and Gateway system. Setup was straightforward, the Gateway connected to Ethernet without difficulty, and the local web interface made commissioning easy. The cloud dashboard is clean, responsive, and highly customizable, with useful metrics such as CO₂, PM2.5, dew point, and signal strength. I especially appreciate that the Gateway also exposes a local JSON API, allowing advanced users to perform their own analyses while still benefiting from the cloud interface. Overall, the system has exceeded my expectations and provides an excellent foundation for long-term indoor environmental monitoring. We’re using the system to better understand indoor air quality and moisture conditions, and it’s already helping us make informed decisions about ventilation and occupancy.
One item on my wish list would be an outdoor-rated version of the Ruuvi Air sensor for challenging environments such as coastal climates with frequent fog and salt air. That would enable indoor-versus-outdoor air quality comparisons (CO₂, particulate matter, VOCs, and NOx), which would be extremely valuable for our use case—and possibly for others as well, such as people comparing indoor and outdoor air quality during wildfire smoke events.
I hesitated quite some time to buy one because of the price. But now, I do not have to walk around to get the information from all of my tags. Another advantage is that I can download the data and combine them the way I’d like to and perform some statistics on them. I also got a Ruuvi station that warned me through the gateway in my emailbox when the concentration of particles increase during cooking. (So, I need to update my ventilation…). So for me the gateway works very well.
This gave us a great connection to the phone.
