Why do we collect and store the data?

Storing the data enables us to create, maintain and grow relationships with our customers. It helps us in marketing our products and services to current and potential customers and business partners based on the understanding we have gained about their needs and preferences. This applies to anyone who is a current or potential client or business partner of Ruuvi Innovations Oy or any one of its subsidiaries.

We also store personal data to enable us to effectively carry out our business activities, such as communication, invoicing and creating contracts between us and our clients and partners.

Which information is stored?

Our data records may contain personal details such as first and last names and contact details such as phone numbers, email addresses and other forms of communication between Ruuvi Innovations Oy and its clients and partners.

To allow us to better serve our clients, we may also store notes about our interactions such as emails, conversations and meetings, including dates and times of those interactions.

How we gather the data?

Subject to you consent when required by applicable law, we collect the data during our direct interactions with you, such as phone calls, emails, face-to-face meetings, and other forms of communication we may engage in with you. Data can be also collected if you register use our forum, for example. We may also collect and store publicly available data about you or your business, such as personal and/or business websites, LinkedIn profiles, and social media platforms.

We may also store information that you have provided through our online contact forms and download forms on, Ruuvi Station app, and any other current and future websites and apps belonging to Ruuvi Innovations Oy and it’s subsidiaries. We may also use Internet cookies on some of our sites - see the separate Cookies document.

In order to use certain parts of this website, you might have to first complete the registration process. During registration you are required to provide certain information (such as your name and email address). This information may be used to deliver our products/services to you, which you have ordered. You may also choose to provide additional information about yourself, but this is not required. By joining the Ruuvi Community by providing your email address (for example when registering to Forum or Slack team), you agree to occasionally receive important news from Ruuvi. You can unsubscribe anytime.

We may store your data using following services and/or systems: CRM system(s) Survey tool(s) Mailing list service(s) Marketing and sales tool(s) Chat tool(s).

These services and/or systems may be run internally on our servers or hosted by third party service providers, also called data processors.

Who may have access to your data, and how your data may be distributed?

Employees of Ruuvi Innovations Oy and Ruuvi's subsidiaries can have access to your data for the purpose of:

  • Interacting with you regarding mutual business interest such as all forms of communication, meetings, invoicing, contracts, etc.
  • Contacting you for any other purpose you have consented to, such as receiving promotional materials, or news about our products and services.

Ruuvi's subcontractors may also have access to server backups while maintaining Ruuvi's servers and services.

We ensure that any third party services we may use for the purpose of data processing are GDPR law compliant and follow the rules set forth in the controller-processor contract. We also ensure that your data will not be shared with any internal or external parties without your permission.

Please be aware that there can be significant differences in local laws based on your country and jurisdiction. We may be required by law to disclose your data to regulatory, statutory, or judicial authorities and third parties, but will only do so in strict accordance with the applicable laws.

Where is your data stored?

We store your data on a cloud-based service mostly in the European Union. This customer relationship management service may occasionally replicate the data and store it on cloud servers outside the EU. In both cases, your data storage and transfer are defined and regulated by relevant data protection laws, which include the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016/679, to ensure the protection of your personal data.

What security measures to we use to protect your data?

We endeavour to research, find and use business partners and security services providers who, to the best of our knowledge and market standards, use adequate methods intended to keep your data safe from accidental loss, illegal distribution, unauthorized access, modification, or use.

Only those employees of Ruuvi Innovations Oy and its business partners who engage with you on business related matters and other activities for which you have given your consent, will have access to your data.

What are your rights regarding your personal data?

  • Right to review: You have the right to review your personal data stored in our records.
  • Right to prohibition: You have the right to ask us to stop using your personal data for any purpose including: direct contact, sending you marketing materials, asking you to take part in surveys, etc…
  • Right to rectify and update data: You have the right to ask us to change any incorrect or out-of-date information.
  • Right to be deleted from our records: You have the right to ask us to delete all of your personal data and records from our systems. Any data that is required to terminate or complete legal and contractual obligations between Ruuvi Innovations Oy and yourself, will be kept as long as it is legally required.
