RuuviTag is a Bluetooth sensor that monitors environmental conditions and sends the data directly to your mobile device. The Ruuvi Station mobile app allows you to view real-time accurate measurements and historical graphs. The app also provides customisable alerts to notify you of critical conditions, such as a melting freezer, excessively high bedroom temperatures that could disrupt sleep, or elevated humidity levels in your basement.

"Easy install reasonable accuracy"
Search YouTube using "Victron Ruuvi". Watch a 5 minute video and set it up on a Cervo GX in less than 5 minutes as long as you don't have to update the Venus OS. It just works. There are a lot of videos stating the Ruuvi doesn't do Fahrenheit. I guess the old ones only did Celsius, but the new Ruuvi's have it.

RuuviTag not visible in Victron Cerbo GX
Victron has integrated RuuviTag sensor compatibility into Venus OS 2.80, allowing your RuuviTag sensors to be added to supported systems like the Cerbo GX monitoring system, and it’s predecessors the Color Control GX, Venus GX and more.
However, the Cerbo GX’s built-in Bluetooth radio is not reliable enough to work with Ruuvi sensors. As a result, Victron advises installing a Bluetooth 4.0 USB adapter when using Cerbo GX with RuuviTag sensors.
A list of tested adapters is available here. The main concern is related to internal temperature, which means the system may function without problems in colder conditions. Nonetheless, for best performance and reliability, using a recommended Bluetooth adapter is advised.

Is RuuviTag waterproof?
RuuviTag is IP67 certified (water-resistant, tested in 1 meter depth). If you are looking for a fully waterproof sensor, please check out RuuviTag Pro (2in1), which is IP68 or IP69K certified (waterproof, tested in 50 meters depth). See the certification of each sensor directly on the product pages.
Please keep in mind that Bluetooth signals are strongly attenuated in the water and range will be significantly reduced. Ruuvi sensors can then be used in narrow water if you want to maintain connection (for example pool or jacuzzi). If you want to measure deeper, you can attach the RuuviTag Pro to a string and take it back to the surface when you want to download the data history.
What are the operating conditions of the Ruuvi sensors?
Temperature
Electronics of the Ruuvi sensors can support temperatures between -40°C (-40°F) and +85°C (+185°F). However, the market standard CR2477 batteries’ operation range is usually between -20°C (-4°F) and +70°C (+158°F). Do not exceed these temperatures without shopping our custom made wide-range battery, which is designed to operate with the same limits as the electronics of the sensors.
Dust & Water
All the sensors are resistant to dust and moisture. Some of the sensors are IP67 certified (water-resistant) and some are IP68 or IP69K certified (waterproof). See the specific certifications for each sensor on the product page. Please keep in mind that water lowers drastically the range of the sensors.
Do I need to charge my Ruuvi sensors?
No, the power of the Ruuvi sensors is supplied by CR2477 coin batteries, included in the box. One battery lasts usually between 1-2 years in continuous use. The battery is easily replaceable by the user making our products very sustainable and lowering their maintenance costs to a few euros every two years.
It’s recommended to use external Bluetooth dongle with Victron Cerbo GX to ensure reliable Bluetooth reception. Recommended Bluetooth dongles can be found here.
Using only Ruuvi sensors
The sensors send data packages via Bluetooth to your mobile device. Thanks to optimized sensor antenna design, in perfect conditions without any obstacle, the Bluetooth range is up to 200 meters, which is way more than that regular Bluetooth speaker.
Please keep in mind that any obstacle, especially metal enclosures, concrete walls, or proximity of water will lower the range.
Using Ruuvi sensors + Ruuvi Gateway
The sensors send the same data packages as above with the same emission power. However, the reception antenna is way better on the Ruuvi Gateway than on a regular mobile device. The highest range ever recorded, in optimal conditions, between the Gateway and the sensors is a vertiginous 2000 meters!
The Ruuvi Gateway shares then data to the cloud service and the sensor readings are then retrievable from anywhere in the world as long as you have an internet connection.
