Ruuvi Station is designed to be an intuitive and versatile app, providing easy access to your Ruuvi sensor data. With the Sensor Share feature, sharing your sensor data with others has never been easier. Whether you’re a hobbyist monitoring a greenhouse, a business overseeing storage conditions, or just sharing weather data with friends, sensor sharing makes measuring fun and effortless.
In this article, we introduce the new and improved Share Sensors page (currently available in Ruuvi Station Web UI) where you can share your sensors to multiple recipients at once, view details about sensors you have shared with others and those shared with you.
Please note that in order to use the sensor share feature to share your Ruuvi sensors with others, you will need a Ruuvi Gateway router. This is because the shared sensor data is fetched from the Ruuvi Cloud service, ensuring up-to-date measurements in Ruuvi Station.
Sharing simplified
Sharing your sensor in Ruuvi Station Mobile and Web app is fast and easy. Just select the sensor you want to share, enter the recipient’s email address, and you’re done. If the recipient doesn’t already have a Ruuvi account, a free account will be created when they first sign in with the provided email address. The recipient simply needs to sign in to the Ruuvi Station app to synchronise the shared sensor.
Once the shared sensor card is visible in Ruuvi Station, the recipient will see the same measurement data recorded to Ruuvi Cloud. They can analyse data and set personalised alerts for the sensor, just like it was a local sensor.
Sharing feature is available in both Ruuvi Station mobile and Web applications. Currently a simple sensor share feature is available in mobile apps and the more expanded new Share Sensors page is now available exclusively in Ruuvi Station Web UI.
In order to share your sensor, a Ruuvi Gateway router is required and the sensor must be claimed to your Ruuvi account. To receive a shared sensor, you only need a Ruuvi Station app and a free Ruuvi account.
Now you can share your sensor to multiple recipients at once (web)
With the latest Ruuvi Station WebUI update, the new dedicated Share Sensors page lets you effortlessly share your sensor with multiple recipients (maximum of 10 shares per sensor is supported) in one go. Simply select the sensor you want to share from your sensors list, add as many recipient email addresses as you like, and tap the Share button. At the end of the process, an overview report will be displayed to confirm that the share was successful.
Shared sensors share same features
Once a sensor has been shared with another Ruuvi account, the sharee enjoys the same features as allowed on the sharer’s account for a particular sensor. This means that any shared sensor will have the same features available for sharee as on the sensor owner’s account, such as subscription level and calibration settings.
The dedicated Share Sensors page lets you view the sensor owner’s subscription level for any sensor shared with you to keep you up-to-date with the features available.
A world of Ruuvi sensors on your dashboard
The Ruuvi Gateway truly excels when you need to monitor multiple physical locations simultaneously. Simply add a Ruuvi Gateway router to each location, claim the sensors to your account, and view the data on your Ruuvi Station app remotely from anywhere in the world.
This enables businesses with multiple locations to react to environmental changes instantly, whether it’s monitoring cold chain products or tracking equipment vibration using Ruuvi sensors. Some of our customers have also added remote monitoring to their summer cottages and boats to keep track of the conditions around the year when they are not physically there.
Additionally, the Share Sensors feature allows Gateway owners to collaborate and share measurement data with anyone worldwide, bringing a global network of Ruuvi sensor data to your Ruuvi Station dashboard.
