Optimal temperature in the bathroom ensures pleasant usage, but plays an even more important role for the drying of bathroom structures and fittings. Suitable temperature in a bathroom is usually around 23-24 °C.
Bathroom floor heating and recommended temperature
Underfloor heating is sufficient in the bathroom when the floor feels neutral against your foot. The floor is not meant to feel warm or hot, but the surface temperature should be between 23° C and 24° C.
Underfloor heating is often one of the biggest contributors to high electricity bills. It is worth keeping the bathroom door shut to save money, so that the heat does not escape to the rest of the home.
Bathroom air humidity
Relative humidity can temporarily rise to 100% in the bathroom, so ventilation needs to work well to cope with such humidity. If humidity stays up for a longer period of time, moisture can condense in cold corners of the room and cause unfortunate moisture damage. Suitable humidity in the bathroom should be around 30% to 60%. You will know that ventilation in your bathroom is insufficient if moisture condenses on bathroom surfaces for several minutes.
Bathroom air humidity and temperature measurement
A proper device for measuring humidity in the bathroom is RuuviTag or RuuviTag Pro (3in1). Both of these sensors measure humidity and temperature. Install the sensor at the height of your head. We suggest that the device is installed far enough from the shower, as the breathable membrane may absorb water if the droplets remain on its surface for too long.
Once the sensor is installed, you can monitor real time temperature and humidity levels from the Ruuvi Station app. You can also observe the history graphs to see whether it is excessively humid in your bathroom for longer periods of time. You can also place Ruuvitag to bathroom floor and you can easily monitor floor heating cycles and adjust thermostat if necessary. If necessary, you can set alarms from the application that will alert you about undesirable conditions.

After integrating four RuuviTags into my Victron Cerbo GX / VRM system in our Rapido motorhome, I can honestly say they have transformed the way I monitor the vehicle.
The setup now provides live temperature, humidity and pressure monitoring directly inside the VRM portal, allowing me to monitor critical areas including:
Battery Box
Orion DC-DC Charger Compartment
Engel Fridge
Main Rapido Fridge Area
What impressed me most was how seamlessly the RuuviTags integrated with the Cerbo GX via Bluetooth. Once connected, the data appears natively inside VRM and can be used for real alarms and automation.
I have now configured:
High temperature alarms
Low temperature alarms
VRM email notifications
Relay-triggered audible siren alarms
The system is now capable of warning me immediately if:
the lithium battery compartment gets dangerously cold
the battery box overheats
the Orion compartment becomes too hot
ventilation or airflow problems occur
The accuracy and stability of the readings have been excellent. The tags update reliably and provide a very clear picture of what is happening inside the motorhome.
One of the major advantages is that the system no longer relies on older digital-input alarm methods or complex workarounds. The RuuviTag + Cerbo GX combination feels like a modern, professional-grade monitoring solution.
The compact size, long battery life and wireless operation make installation extremely easy. No extra wiring was required for the sensors themselves.
For anyone building a Victron-based off-grid system, especially in a motorhome, caravan, marine or lithium battery installation, I would highly recommend RuuviTags.
They add a level of visibility and protection that is difficult to achieve any other way at this price point.
perfect to log my boat conditions when i’m away, and check pressure variations in real time when i sail
